Glen Ellyn Public Library cardholders have access to a special collection of assistive devices from the Bloomingdale Public Library including magnifiers and devices to aid everyday living. Checking assistive devices out from a library provides an excellent risk-free opportunity to try them before buying them.
Some of the assistive devices available for checkout include:
Arthwriter Hand Aid: A device for assisting those with arthritis or a hand disability to hold a pen or other utensils.
CRIS Radio: A special radio that receives news, entertainment, and sports for those with visual impairments.
Large-Numbered Calculators, Playing Cards, Timers, and Book Holders.
Magnifiers: Over 20 different styles, including Nitewriter: a pen with a built-in spotlight.
Talking Alarm Clock, Calculator, Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer, and Telephone.
