The library has many holiday movies. See the Adult Services blog for some choices. More can be found by searching in the library's catalog. Select video/dvd to narrow your search then type terms such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.

The library has a database called Auto Repair Center. The Auto Repair Center database includes vehicles from 1945 to present, drawings and step-by-step photographs, technical service bulletins & recalls, enhanced wiring diagrams, specifications and maintenance schedules, Labor Time Guide, and more. Click on the Online Resources tab to sign in from home with your Glen Ellyn Library card or come in to the library and try it out.

The Library Board meets once a month. You can find a schedule of meetings, agendas, minutes and the names of the board members by clicking on About Us then click on Board of Trustees.
The Glen Ellyn Library Foundation provides an additional source of revenue to the Library so as to enrich its role in the community. The Foundation offers several ways to donate including Naming Opportunities. See the Naming Opportunities brochure for more details. The library has a database with information about hobbies and crafts. The Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center includes full text of over 740 magazines and books on topics to meet the interests of many hobby-enthusiasts. Subject areas include collecting, games, model building, needlework, scrapbooking, papercraft and more. Click on the Online Resources tab to sign in from home with your Glen Ellyn Library card or come in to the library and try it out.

We have a database called OneSearch that searches 17 of our databases all at one time? Find it through the Online Resources tab at the top of the screen or under Find Online Resources in the right column. Once you are in Onesearch choose one or more (or all) databases and type your search terms. You can speed up your search for articles in magazines, newspapers and reference books by using Onesearch.

You can sign up to receive a one page monthly e-newsletter that will be sent to your e-mail address to supplement the Library’s quarterly printed newsletter. We will tell you about upcoming events and programs at the Library. Click on the Newsletters tab at the top of the page to sign up.
You can get lists of certain collections in the Glen Ellyn library by using the Quick Lists feature in the catalog. Click on the Catalog tab near the top of the screen. Then, click on Quick Lists. You will see lists for adult and youth materials on topics such as New Fiction, Books on CD, DVDs, playaways, Downloadable books and more.

You can suspend your holds if you are going to be away. Go to your account and sign in with your Glen Ellyn library card number and PIN. Select the hold(s), click on Suspend Holds and follow the instructions. Then, if an item is returned and you are next to receive it, the computer will bypass your hold but keep you in the queue so that you will receive the next available copy after the suspension ends. You won't miss a hold because you aren't home when it comes in, and you won't lose your place in line for the item(s)!

The Adult Services Department now has a blog. Check it for events, information and resources in the adult collection. Find it in the left column under Blogs and More. Find our new Facebook and Twitter pages there too!

Summer storytimes begin in June. For details click on For Kids in the left column. Then click on Storytimes.
You can sign up for library programs online. Click on the Calendar tab near the top of the screen. Find the event you want and click on it. If the event requires registration you will see a form to fill out. For questions or assistance with registering for programs, please contact the Adult Services or Youth Services department.

Information for Book Groups can be found in Reader’s Corner. Click on Reader’s Corner, then Information for Book Groups. You will find a list of books chosen by local groups for their discussions, Glen Ellyn library services for book groups and a list of books, websites and databases.

You can now purchase a 1GB flash drive at the library for $10. Stop at the Circulation Desk on the first floor to get your drive.
